• Profile Information: Full name, date of birth, gender, height, religion, caste, mother tongue, district, city, village, current residence, education, occupation, income range, marital status, and photographs.
• Family Information: Father and mother occupation, siblings count, family type, and family background details you choose to share.
• Matrimonial Details: Kundali availability, manglik status, partner expectations, and profile visibility preferences.
• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, search queries, interests sent and received, and message activity timestamps.
• Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers collected automatically when you access the platform.

Your information is used for the following purposes:

• To create, maintain, and display your matrimonial profile to other verified users.
• To match you with compatible profiles based on your preferences and partner criteria.
• To facilitate communication between you and prospective matches through interests and messages.
• To verify your identity and ensure the authenticity of profiles on the platform.
• To process subscription payments and manage your plan benefits.
• To send notifications about interests received, messages, profile views, and subscription updates.
• To contact you by phone regarding your registration, enquiry, or related services. By registering on the platform or submitting an enquiry, you agree that our team may call you to assist with your registration, enquiry, or services connected to them.
• To improve our platform, develop new features, and enhance user experience.
• To detect and prevent fraud, harassment, fake profiles, and other security threats.
• To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data:

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored on access-controlled infrastructure.
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard one-way hashing and are never stored in plain text.
• Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.

• Photographs and sensitive documents are stored in access-controlled storage.

We understand that contact details are sensitive in a matrimonial context. Your phone number and email address are never displayed publicly on your profile. Contact details are shared only with users you have mutually accepted an interest from, and only if your subscription plan permits it. You can control your contact visibility through your privacy settings at any time.

We use cookies and similar technologies as follows:

• Essential Cookies: Always on — required for the platform to function, including session management and security.
• Preference Cookies: Remember your settings such as language and notification choices.
• Analytics & Marketing Cookies: Currently not in use. When we begin marketing HimShaadi, measurement tools such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel may be introduced to understand usage and measure campaigns. We will update this policy before any such tool goes live, and where consent is required you will be asked first.

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may affect platform functionality.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:

• Service Providers: Hosting providers, payment processors, and email delivery services that help us operate the platform. All providers are bound by data protection agreements.
• AI Assistants: Our support assistant and astrology assistant are powered by third-party AI services. Messages you send to these assistants, together with the account context needed to answer, are processed by these providers solely to generate your response.
• Messaging & OTP Delivery: SMS and email delivery partners process your phone number or email address as needed to deliver one-time passwords and transactional messages. Your number is never used for marketing without consent.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority, we may disclose information necessary for compliance.
• Safety and Fraud Prevention: We may share information with other users or authorities when we detect fraudulent activity, fake profiles, or behaviour that threatens the safety of our community.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update or correct any inaccurate information in your profile.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account. Your profile, photographs and personal data are removed from the platform and from member discovery. Certain records may be retained briefly for security, fraud-prevention and legal compliance purposes, as permitted by applicable law.
• Portability: Export your profile data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.
• Restriction: Request that we limit the processing of your data in certain circumstances.

Users must respect other members’ privacy and preferred contact times. If we receive and verify a complaint about unwanted late-night calls, we will issue one warning to the offending user. If the behaviour continues after the warning, we will permanently remove their profile and terminate their membership without a refund, subject to applicable law.
